Murong Qiuyu, a female general of the Nanyang kingdom, is willing to do anything, even killing her husband, Prince Li Jian, to help Li Mo ascend to the throne. However, Li Mo betrays her and kills her with the help of her sister, Murong Xiner. After being reborn, Murong Qiuyu finds herself back on her wedding night with Prince Li Jian.
Murong Qiuyu decides to use this chance to take revenge on those who killed her in her previous life. She intends to pass the exam and become an official, then approach Li Mo and Murong Xiner and make them both fall in love with her in order to get close to them and find an opportunity to assassinate them.
However, the Prince Li Jian in this life is a different person from the previous one. He is a kind and gentle person, not the cruel and ruthless person he was in the previous life. Murong Qiuyu begins to hesitate to take revenge on him.
